Paradise modems undergo WGS satellite certification

July 6, 2018

Paradise has received the backing of a U.S. government department that is sponsoring the certification of various modems for use on the WGS constellation of satellites. Amongst the modems to be certified are the QFlex-400 IP Satellite Modem, the Q-Lite Compact Satellite Modem and Q-NET point-to-multipoint modems.

The Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) system is a constellation of satellites developed for the U.S. Department of Defense and its partners. Plans were announced earlier this year for the expansion of the existing WGS constellation, taking the total number to 12 satellites.

The Paradise modem certification process is already underway. It is expected that provisional certification will be granted prior to the formal completion of the certification process, allowing Paradise modems to be used on WGS satellites at an early date.
