Welcome
to Paradise Datacom’s Uplink, an
e-mail newsletter dedicated to providing updated
SATCOM market news and useful product information
to satellite communications professionals.
Paradise
Datacom has served the Satellite Communications Industry
since 1989 by designing, manufacturing and supplying
quality products that include Modems, Solid State
Power Amplifiers (SSPA's), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA's)
and Block Up-converters (BUC's). With manufacturing
centers in
the
United States and the UK, SATCOM customers
have convenient access to Paradise Datacom’s management
and support teams at all times.
Paradise
Datacom products designs yield high output power
ratings in small, lightweight packages that are extremely
rugged and possess excellent thermal characteristics.
In addition, Paradise Datacom supports non-typical
frequency band requirements with reasonable prices
and delivery schedules. Our Special Operations department
can factory-integrate LNA and SSPA redundancy packages
including amplifiers, wave guides, switches, phase
combiners, control cabling, interface documentation
and hardware to your unique requirements.
TWTA
or SSPA?
Decisions,
decisions! Your SATCOM system is loaded with tube-based
amplifiers heading towards the end of their functional
lives. Should you replace them with more Travelling
Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTA's) or upgrade to a more
modern SSPA?
While
some applications for tube amplifiers exist in SATCOM
systems, the Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) is
establishing itself as the amplifier of choice: Why?
Overall, SSPAs deliver better performance, consume
less power and with MTBFs in excess of 100,000 hours,
provide high reliability over TWTA's.

proof? Click
here to access Paradise Datacom’s white papers
comparing SSPAs to TWTAs.
Just
as the audio cassette gave way to the Compact Disk
and the video tape is being replaced by the DVD,
SSPAs are rapidly replacing TWTAs and Klystron amplifiers
in satellite networks around the world.
Paradise
Datacom continues to produce one of the widest ranges
of solid-state power amplifiers and Block Up Converters
in the world. The company’s family of indoor and
outdoor SSPAS offers premium performance for satellite
uplink applications in C-, Ku-, S- and X-Frequency
Bands. All Paradise Datacom SSPAs are available with
internal L-band block up converters, internally or
externally referenced.
